Capt. Jamie Simmons of Buzzards Bay Outfitters and the Salty Cape Crew head out to the Vineyard Sound to target False Albacore keyed in on butterfish and silversides. Using popular Hogy Lures such as the Epoxy Jig Lure and the Heavy Minnow Lure, the crew uses classic retrieves and techniques to chase these fish.
The anglers use a skippy technique, which is the most common when albie and bonito fishing, and arguably the most effective for these finicky fish.
Tip: Use small jigs and keep them skipping on the surface by keeping your rod tip up high and reeling quickly. This will make your bait stand out.
