The striped bass season is officially underway here on Cape Cod. Capt. Mike Hogan sets out aboard his brand new 28′ Contender in search of some of the first migratory fish to hit the waters of Buzzards Bay!
Finding the birds and the fish was no problem, but coaxing the fish into hitting a lure was a different story. Fortunately Capt. Mike was equipped with the Hogy Slow Tail Swimbait, which was getting eaten on the “cast and drop” retrieve. When encountering finicky fish, sometimes it comes down to the cadence of the lure and that is exactly what Capt. Mike encountered on this day!
Gear List:
Rod: St. Croix Legend Extreme 7ft
Reel: Shimano Saragosa 5000

- Slow down your approach and let the action of the Slow Tail do the work.
