With each tide a brings a new wave of migratory striped bass to the waters off of Cape Cod. Capt. Mike Hogan sets out aboard his 28′ Contender throwing topwater plugs for striped bass at the rips of Middleground.
The rips of Middleground serve as a buffet for striped bass as they gorge on the abundant schools of squid. Top water offerings such as the Hogy Charter Grade Popper in amber are a perfect presentation to mimic a fleeing squid on the surface. As always, make sure to crush those barbs and remove rear treble hooks to ensure a healthy release of these beautiful fish!
