Video: Spring Topwater Stripers on Middle Ground

 

We filmed this a couple of years ago during the squid run on Middle Ground, off Martha’s Vineyard. The water was incredibly weedy so we needed to rig with a weedless hook to prevent weed build up. We were casting up-tide and fishing the swing as the soft bait drifted over the shoal. The stripers were feeding on squid, so we chose amber for color. Bubble gum and bone are two alternative colors.
