The “walk the dog” retrieve is a classic and effective presentation for soft baits. The medium speed, side-to-side action is a great all around retrieve for soft baits. Watch your lure closely and keep your rod tip high while you reel and impart action to the bait. Aggressive hits are the norm with this technique and don’t forget to set the hook – but only after the instant you feel the weight of the fish.
