The Elizabeth Islands are a legendary striped bass and bluefish destination. The rocky coastline provides excellent habitat for large stripers, and the abundance of bait that holds down the Islands all year long makes it easy to find pods of topwater fish accompanied by birds.

Elizabeth Islands Updated Fishing Report

Woods Hole is still harboring some albies but no bonito have been reported. The tautog bite has been good. 


Elizabeth Islands Fishing Report – October 18, 2018

Earlier in the week, there were still decent numbers of albies being caught in Woods Hole, as well as small bass and bluefish. The water temperature in the Hole was 62.8-degrees on Wednesday, certainly still within the range that will still have albies hanging around, as long as there is enough bait.


Elizabeth Islands Fishing Report – October 11, 2018

There aren’t great numbers of large fish, but the consistently successful anglers have certain areas scoped out that produce during limited stretches of the tide. The reality is the closer we get to Halloween, the fish are likely to pay a visit to a certain stretch of water for a day or two before moving elsewhere as the begin to feed and get ready for a lengthy trip south or west.

In this video, Matt Rissell and Ian Crowley head out after dark towards a few rock piles off the Elizabeth Islands in search of fall run action. After only a half an hour, hooked into a 41" fish. Fighting against the current and on light tackle made for some of the most exciting striper fishing of the season.
