When false albacore finally show up in numbers to chase peanut bunker and bay anchovies, it’s one of the most visually exciting fisheries Cape Cod has to offer. On a beautiful mid-September day in Vineyard Sound, we joined Capt. Jamie Simmons of Buzzards Bay Outfitters for one of the best days of albie fishing we’ve had all season.

The cool, clear waters of Monomoy make it one of the most unique places to fish for striped bass on Cape Cod. In this video, Capt. Mike enjoys greasy calm conditions and an excellent topwater and jigging bite, as well as gives a few tips for how to entice a bite when the fish are leader-shy.
The 2nd Annual BBO Shootout was held on June 16th. The catch & release tournament featured 40 anglers from all over the Cape & Islands and the fishing was excellent, with multiple 20+ pound fish caught throughout the day.
