Why Sign Up for Our Fishing Reports?

Once a week, Capt. Dave Peros publishes a report for each of the most productive fishing areas on Cape Cod, including individual reports for Cape Cod Bay, Cape Cod Canal, Elizabeth Islands, Buzzards Bay, Martha’s Vineyard, Nantucket and Vineyard Sound, Nantucket, Monomoy, the Outer Cape and Offshore, giving you the most in-depth fishing report available for Cape Cod & the Islands.

Salty Cape also produces 2-5 minute video reports, which are published a few times a week depending on the success of the Salty team’s recent trips. Capt. Mike and the Salty Cape team fish multiple times a week from P-Town to Cuttyhunk to Nantucket to show you what’s going on out in Cape Cod waters. Videos are posted to the website and Facebook as well.

What’s in the newsletter?

All of the week’s best content is collected into an easy to read weekly e-mail digest and sent to our subscribers early on Friday, just in time for the weekend. In this weekly e-blast we cover everything you need to know for the next few days of fishing, including all of Capt. Dave’s reports, videos shot by Salty staff during the week, links to tides, weather reports, sea surface temperature data, and other picks by the Salty Cape team.

Is Salty Cape on Social Media?

Salty Cape’s Facebook page is updated frequently throughout the summer, featuring contributor reports, original videos, links to resources like maps and gear guides, and even live streaming from the water when the internet connection allows it.

We also run a Salty Cape instagram feed, capturing the best photos, fishing reports and video clips from this season.

Why is all of this information free?

SaltyCape.com is supported by Hogy Lure Company. The information featured on Salty Cape by no means only features Hogy Lures, but does feature advertisements and links for Hogy products throughout the site. Many of Hogy Lure Company’s products were developed in Cape Cod waters for Cape Cod fishing, so it’s a nice tie-in for the site, and also allows the Salty staff to have editorial objectivity on all other topics.

Who are the contributors?

The Salty team features a number of USCG-certified captains, native Cape Codders and former employees of other fishing media companies. Including Capt. Mike Hogan, Capt. Dave Peros, Capt. Shaun Ruge, Capt. Terry Nugent, Capt. Larry Backman, Gene Bourque, Ian Crowley, and Matt Rissell, SaltyCape.com draws its strength from over 200 years of combined experience fishing the waters of Cape Cod.

How can I get involved?

The Salty Cape staff loves receiving submissions from readers so much that we give away Hogy Lures every time a report makes it up on the site.
