Watch for surface action from blues and stripers. Use surface plugs, metals, jigs, swimming plugs. In recent years, bluefish show up in May before the stripers. Striper fishing is the strongest here in June. Amber colored Hogy in 10″ and 7″ are hugely popular when there is a squid bight.

Work the steep drop off along the northwest side of the rip with large swimming plugs, jigs or metals on wire line.
