Cape Cod Fishing Report June 7, 2024

Cape Cod Fishing Report June 7, 2024 Nantucket Capt. Corey Gammill sent me his report via a voice recorded email; I have to say I am not a big fan of technology, but in this case, it worked great. Corey noted that over the last week, the bass have moved west of Muskeget Channel in great numbers and they are feeding heavily on squid and sand eels. Most of the rips around Tuckernuck have fish.

Cape Cod Fishing Report: June 6, 2024 Cape Cod Canal - Buzzard's Bay Earlier today, I stopped over at Canal Bait and Tackle in Sagamore to catch up with Jeff Miller and he reported that after the bite tailed off in the Cape Cod Canal– especially around the Sagamore Bridge – as the east current began to slack mid-morning, a bunch of folks who had been in on the bite – both on plugs and jigs – came in to restock to fish the turn. Green mackerel was definitely the hot color, with some folks opting for loaded plugs.

Cape Cod Fishing Report: 6/5/2024 Nantucket + Vineyard Sound - Buzzards Bay - The Canal Another great day of fishing here on Cape as the shoals in Nantucket and Vineyard Sounds continue to produce fish – albeit in a way that many people avoid at all costs! Bigger black sea bass (BSB) are being caught in greater numbers, although if you fish many of the more popular, named locations rather than having worked on discovering patches of hard bottom that have produced big males in the past, you are still going to pick through a lot of shorts. Finally, more bluefish are being reported and they are big.

Cape Cod Fishing Report: 6/4/2024

Cape Cod Fishing Report: 6/4/2024 Nantucket Sound REALLY nice day filming in Nantucket Sound. Took a few friends out on shoot to show the “behind scenes” of a Salty TV One angler was brand new to fishing. In my line of work I don’t fish with enough newbies. I was reminded how invigorating it is to see such an awesome sport through a beginner’s eyes.

Cape Cod Fishing Report: June 3, 2024 CAPE COD BAY While the southside of the Cape appears to be holding mainly slot sized bass, with a few mid 30 to over 40-inch fish, the waters from the bay on up to Boston are holding some truly large fish feeding on schools of pogies. Cape Cod Bay

Cape Cod Fishing Report: June 2, 2024

Cape Cod Fishing Report: June 2, 2024 Nantucket and Vineyard Sounds Even in areas where bass have been active, such as in the wide array of shoals in Nantucket and Vineyard Sounds, bluebird conditions that might make for a nice boat ride can leave anglers wringing their hands as they search – often frantically – for a way to coax a bass into committing after it has been tracking and seemingly nosing your offering or tracking it like a submarine.

Cape Cod Fishing Report: 6/1/2024

Cape Cod Fishing Report: 6/1/2024 Wasque If there is one thing that is consistent right now it’s the inconsistency of the wind direction that last several days and it looks like it is going to continue into this week. This morning, it was southeast, but it’s now gone around southwest before shifting to west tonight and northwest tomorrow in the AM and finally moving around to east in the afternoon. Later in the week, the forecast has winds out of the
