As you approach Gay Head from the East, you’ll find the area known as Menemsha Bight. (1) Excellent area for sight casting flies, soft plastics, small swimming plugs, metals over boulders, eel grass and mussel beds a few hundred yards off the beach. Work entire shoreline from entrance of Menemsha harbor to Gay Head. Stripers and bluefish are present throughout the season but the next area is best known for bonito and false albacore from mid-summer into the fall. (2). Consider this stretch an important stretch to “recon” for bonito and albies.
