Gluttonous Woods Hole Striper Unsuccessfully Swallows Keeper Sea Bass

Interesting story out of Woods Hole on Wednesday evening. One local fisherman spotted a strange object floating down the middle of the Hole, and upon further investigation, found a striped bass well over 30″ had choked while trying to eat a 15″ sea bass. The fishermen quickly scooped up both fish and took them both home. Not a bad way to catch your dinner!

Anglers in Woods Hole have found a wide variety of bait in the stomachs of keeper stripers so far this season, including sea robin, squid, herring, silversides, sand eels and now sea bass. It’s just another reminder that if you can see fish but they aren’t biting, keep switching up your lure selection until you find something that piques their interest.
