Riptide Report: Nantucket Sound Albies – August 28, 2016

Today I had Eugene and two of his children Elli May and Grady on the boat along with Uncle Tyler. This crew are regulars on the Riptide and every one of them is a fantastic angler.

That said competition runs deep in this family. On our last trip Grady slayed tuna and mahi. This trip his little sister 9 year old Elli May was looking to take the high hook honors.

We launched RIPTIDE on flat water and hit some common and uncommon spots looking for hardtails. Elli May struck first with a STUD albie that was right on the 10# mark.

When the crowds in that area got to be too much we moved. She owned the next spot with a solid 8# bonito and several smaller bluefish. She rounded out the Grand slam with some small bass we released.

Not to be outdown, Uncle Tyler and Grady slayed several big gator blues.

We decided to have a nice lunch on Nantucket before heading back out for more Albie Action.

This time Grady and Eugene were on the fish and got several nice big albies of their own.

But only Elli May got the elusive bonito so in the end girl power won the day. She had top honors and showed she is a solid up and coming angler in the White family.

5/8oz Epoxy Jigs were the lure of choice for both bonito and albies.

It was a great day overall. This crew is an absolute pleasure to fish with and I look forward every time I see them on the calendar. They used Hogy Lures Epoxy jigs with Rapala USA Deep Diving X-Raps to land all of their fish today.

Just a great day with a great family, this is what chartering is all about!!!
