Salty Cape reader Chris Junda headed out to Monomoy just after sunrise on Tuesday, June 30th in search of stripers on topwater lures. He was able to hook into 10 fish ranging from 28 to 40″ while casting the Hogy 7″ original in amber rigged with a 6/0 swimbait hook.
In his own words:
“Basic light tackle casting in the rips as described by Capt. Mike on this site. It has been inconsistent so far this year at Monomoy. I have made 4 trips out there and caught bass twice and took the skunk twice. Today was a strong squid bite. They wouldn’t touch an eel but were all over the amber Hogy. It’s become one of my go to lures for both bass and false albacore.”
