Salty Cape reader Chris Junda fished Monomoy on Sunday the 20th and Monday the 21st, chasing albies in the morning.
“The Albie bite down around Monomoy has gotten more sporadic than it was a couple weeks ago. In the last week I caught 3 fish one trip, got skunked twice and caught 5 on the 20th.
Yesterday, the fishing was steady but not spectacular. There were no fish showing or birds, so it was all blind casting in the usual areas. I was able to hook about every 30 minutes or so using both the 5/8 oz and 7/8 oz SI Pink Epoxy jig.
In past years I would be very happy with results like that for albie fishing. I’ve been spoiled by the amazing alibie bite all last season and the beginning of this season. It will be interesting to see how things are after the winds settles down.”
