Last Saturday, Capt. Charlie Richmond and his crew of Bob Lewis and Rich Haskell swept the top three spots in the final Osterville Anglers’ Club tournament of the season by passing on their original plan of fishing Monomoy and instead heading up to the new cut off Nauset. Bob said that the bass they caught were packed with big sand eels and in deep water; where they used six ounce hammered diamond jigs to deal with the current and depth in order to reach the fish they were marking. Although this tournament was strictly a bass event, the Seacure team also managed several bluefish up to 12-pounds.
Unfortunately, the only information I received from this area during the week was that some folks fished the same area and found no fish at all.
