Outer Cape Fishing Report – October 16, 2015

Most boat anglers in the area are concentrating on tuna, which have been active from Peaked Hill to the Golf Ball. A few bluefin have also been caught around Race Point, with Strategic Anglers plugs very effective when cast at both breaking fish and working an area where fish are present but not on top. Of course, dropping a Harness Jig when you are marking fish deep is a top choice, with sand eels still a prime bait this time of year.

Earlier in the week, shore anglers managed a number of blues and just short bass up around Race Point, with plugs such as Bombers and topwaters doing the trick. Tins are also a popular choice when the fish are feeding on sand eels and a longer cast is needed.
