Outer Cape Fishing Report – June 8, 2018

Paul Newmier said that the beaches have definitely been fishing better this year, with a few small legal fish mixed in with plenty of schoolies from all of the beaches between Nauset and Provincetown. Shallow running, narrower profile swimmers such as Daiwa SP Minnows and Bombers, along with needlefish, are popular choices when it comes to plugs, but many, many folks prefer to fish bait from the sand, usually in the form of sand eels.

Paul added that the number of seals was way down until recently when they showed up in great numbers where they typically spend the summer, so it should be interesting to see what effect this has on the fishing.

No bluefish have been reported from the backside as well.
