Outer Cape Fishing Report – July 12, 2016

The bite from the Race down to Peaked Hill pretty much died after the northeast winds last weekend, although Paul Newmier heard from some folks who braved the Race today and they found bass using live mackerel, including enough to keep everybody happy.

The beach fishing has also remained quiet after the blow, although there are some reports of bass being caught by boats working in fairly close from the new Nauset Inlet down to South Beach in Chatham. I haven’t been there myself this year, but I heard that the Southway has reopened and if that is the case, there could be come positive changes coming to the fishery from there up to Chatham Inlet.
