Outer Cape Fishing Report – August 27, 2015

The most consistent bite has been off Nauset, where vertical jigging in water anywhere from 60 to 80-feet seems to be working best. Green has been the key for accenting any jig, from reflective coloration to hook tubes. There are also some big bluefish mixed in.

From the beaches, things have been quiet except for sporadic bluefish action anywhere on the backside; as usual, the key has been finding the bait. Early morning have been productive when using surface plugs, while SP Minnows have gained a great deal of popularity, but needlefish are still tops down around Nauset and Coast Guard Beach.
