Outer Cape Fishing Report – August 25, 2017

Other than paddleboarders trying to catch great whites with their paddleboards, the beaches have continued to be a pick of schoolies along the backside beaches. Sand eels fished on the bottom continue to be the best way of catching any small bass in the area, but early mornings can produce some fish with topwater plugs and swimming plugs or eels would be your choice at night.

Up around Provincetown, shore anglers were apparently catching mackerel in good numbers, but there were no reports of bass or bluefish on them. That should change in the next several weeks as there have been some epic big bluefish blitzes from the P-town beaches and there are some really large choppers being caught up around Truro at the moment.
