Offshore Fishing Report – July 21, 2016

There are bluefin around the Dump, making for a good number of happy offshore anglers who have been looking forward to action south of the Vineyard. A variety of high speed spreader bars, those rigged with small shell squids or Green Machines, have been working best, along with single jigs such as Harness Jigs that lend themselves to high speed trolling. There are also some white marlin being caught on pitch baits and while trolling.

At the Canyons, the good water has been shifting between Veatch and Hydrographer, with good numbers of yellowfin, from some that are small enough to challenge albies in size up to around 60-pounds There are still blue marlin being caught, with skirted ballyhoo the best bait.
