Adam Fasci said that Veatch is producing good numbers of yellowfin right now, while north of Veatch, some wahoo have been caught.
Many of the boats headed out of Falmouth were going to Hydrographer or Oceanographer, which have been holding good numbers of billfish and plenty of mahi. One Falmouth boat that fished earlier in the week and returned Wednesday afternoon reported slow conditions for tuna but good numbers of white marlin. The tuna action has definitely moved farther east.

The word from Elise Costa is that there are bluefin in the triangle formed by Crab Ledge, the Regal Sword, and the BC Buoy, as well as farther east of this area where there had less visible life such as whales and birds, but more fish. The problem is they are very finicky and have generally been tough to take on the troll, while dropping a vertical jig on the fish when you mark them has worked better – at times.
