Nantucket Fishing Report – September 29, 2016

Matt Reinemo reported that he had some friends in town to do some fishing; they obviously ditched the boat, but they went up to Great Point and did very well on albies and bluefish. They were using Epoxy Jigs, with blue/green and green working well, while they also had success with the Heavy Sand Eel with the bucktail dressed hook, which is one of Matt’s favorites, and Deadly Dicks. The bluefish they were catching were between three and four pounds, but Matt did see an angler nearby land a fish in the 10-pound range. The word around his shop, Nantucket Tackle Center, is that there is still a decent striper bite along the south shore at night, with darker colored Hogy’s a productive choice.
