Nantucket Fishing Report – October 5, 2018

Dave Stetson at Bill Fisher Tackle said “there is nothing remarkable about the fish” right now, with perhaps the most interesting news this week concerned large numbers of albies off the Cisco area, with the little tunny coming in close enough to give shore anglers a shot. Dave visited Great Point last weekend and managed one albie after 2.5-hours of casting and saw three other ones caught; it was “not exactly a great cast to catch ratio,” as he put it. There are schoolies inside the harbor, but a 44-inch, 26-pound bass was caught from the beach last weekend, although Dave had no information about where is way. Small to medium blues have been reported around the west side of the island, including Smith and Eel Points.
