The word from Capt. Matt Reinemo is there are still some albies up around Great Point, especially on the inside, but they have been spotty. Matt did hear that a bonito in the 10/11-pound class was caught at the point, but that is definitely a once-in-a-season catch, if not a once-in-a-lifetime bone when it comes to the size of the fish we usually see around the Cape and islands. There are still some bass around both the south shore and north shore, including an occasional 20+-pounder, for folks who are willing to put in the time at night. Soft plastics are typically a popular choice of the surf fishing crowd, along with Daiwa SP Minnows and live eels. As far as any specific spot, Matt has heard of stripers caught at so many spots that he recommends going to a section of beach or a rip that you are familiar with as opposed to hunting around what some folks say is the hot spot at the moment.
