With reports of outstanding albie fishing between the point and Bearses, I went to Chatham today and got skunked. On the other hand, my friend Capt. Warren Marshall received a call from Vinny Foti who had found the albies up on the east side of Monomoy and by the time we talked (I had pulled my boat and was almost home), Warren and his charter had ten albies to the boat. Warren is a big fan of Epoxy Jigs, fished alone or with a teaser fly on a fluorocarbon leader attached to the tail of an EJ.
None of the rips we checked out had any bass or any real sign of life, other than some bait. We did see a few folks pick up an albie here and there blindcasting, but there were no working birds or real surface feeds.
