Monomoy Fishing Report – October 18, 2018

The percentage of the commercial bass quota that has been filled has barely budged the last two weeks and remains around 85%, a pretty good sign that nobody has been getting out to the deeper water between the rips and Chatham and Nauset Inlets where folks like Andy Little at The Powderhorn in Hyannis said good numbers of bass were being jigged up, whether on wire-and-bucktails or an assortment of jigs that lend themselves to vertical presentations.

The mood of the albies that were encountered around the point before things got stirred up this week varied widely according to who you talked to, with a couple of the Cape Cod Flyrodders reporting a catch of a dozen or more last weekend while most members got skunked.
