Monomoy Fishing Report – June 30, 2016

Bob Lewis, Ken Cirillo, and Charlie RIchmond fished Handkerchief Shoal on Friday, with Ken landing an 18-pound bass on a squid fly and Bob using a plug to catch a 14-pounder. They also caught numerous smaller bass and had a number of bluefish cut offs.

Overall, the shoals are getting better, mainly in the area of consistency from day-to-day; rolling sand eels on the bottom continues to be an alternative to tossing plugs and soft plastics in the rip lines, particularly around Bearses.

An increase in the flow of water from the open Atlantic onto the flats on the east side of the islands has resulted in some improved sight fishing in the area.
