Monomoy Fishing Report – August 11, 2017

Lee Boisvert at Riverview Bait & Tackle used the word “inconsistent” to describe the action around the rips and that seems more than apt; Bearses seems to be the one area where boaters have caught some bass, but even there the window of activity might be a half hour long on just one tide.

Some folks are reporting that they have found the bass well off the rips up towards High Bank and Chatham Inlet, but they have been very picky at times, popping here and there, but never long enough in one spot to be caught. At others, it seems as if every bass on the Cape has congregated there.

I did hear that some of the members of the Cape Cod Flyrodders fished Monomoy yesterday and they caught just one bass, with very little in the way of life showing in any of the rips or even north of Bearses.
