Martha’s Vineyard Fishing Report – September 13, 2018

Albies like this one have showed up on the north side of the island.

The Derby is in full swing so that means getting detailed information is very difficult, but Doug Asselin at Dick’s Bait & Tackle in Edgartown told me that the north side of the island from West Chop to Menemsha has schools of surface feeding fish everywhere. You can be casting to albies, bonito, bass, or bluefish as you move along as there is so much bait that all four species are feeding heavily.

State Beach has also had some good early morning albie fishing, while there is no lack of small bass up inside the ponds and harbors.
