Martha’s Vineyard Fishing Report – May 21, 2015

Plenty of small bass around the island, said Doug Asselin; all of the ponds such as Sengekontacket and Lagoon, as well as inside Menemsha, Vineyard Haven, and Edgartown have good numbers of schoolies in the 12 to 24-inch range, perfect targets for small soft plastics and spook type plugs such as Jumpin’ Minnows. There also was a nice little bluefish blitz at Chappy on Wednesday, with good numbers of fish in the four to six-pound class. According to Doug, the big push hasn’t started yet with birds and fish all around the island, but things are late there as they are around the Cape.
