Elizabeth Islands Fishing Report – May 18, 2017

Word has it that fish up to the 30-inch class are settling into the ledges and rips in Woods Hole, while a 20+-pound bass was caught jigging with wire and a green jig. There are also plenty of smaller bass and either tide has been worth checking out. At this time of year, the turn will sometimes produce surface activity that will rival anything you will see all season.
There are tautog around many of the rock piles and the sea bass action should rival the scup bite once the season opens on Saturday, May 20.

The waters surrounding the Elizabeths are holding plenty of mid-sized stripers and bluefish, according to a Salty Cape scouting mission on Wednesday morning.
