Downeast Charters Chatham Report – July 11, 2016

Hey guys, another good week down here in Chatham. From the rips to the flats and up the beach, fish are showing and feeding on both tides. Squid and mackerel are slowing down just as sand eels and pogies become baits of choice. Bait has been key especially during midday tides. Soft plastics, stick baits, and sliders have been good during low light. Find the bait and you’ll find fish. Bluefish have been thick from Point Rip around the corner and to the north and west. Handkerchief, Bearse’s, and Stone Horse have been productive for bass, blues, fluke, and sea bass. There have been bass showing up the beach but not in huge numbers just yet. Good luck and tight lines!
