The albie bite on the east side of the island was still good. Blindcasting remains most effective for both fly and spin anglers, but there have been times when flurries of breaking fish have appeared at the point.
What is typically an area that produces robust topwater action has been a much tougher go this week. For folks trolling the rips, they have reverted back to their normal pulse this season: occasional, short bursts of fish in the early morning, followed by long periods of nothing.
A wide range of techniques are producing bass around the rips and many reports this week are telling of larger fish at times. Handkerchief has had a mix of larger bass and some big bluefish recently, while Point and Shovelful have been hit or miss.
