Cape Cod Canal Fishing Report – August 25, 2016

The land cut saw a good jig bite last night and this morning, particularly from the Sagamore Bridge over to the tanker cut, Jeff Miller explained. White was the top choice, with Savage Sand Eels and Gag’s Whip-it Eels especially effective. The bass have averaged between 15 and 25-pounds at the moment and they are feeding on large schools of peanut bunker and baby herring.

At the west end there has been a topwater bite around the Maritime Academy, but any action has been brief, usually around daybreak and again at dusk.
