Cape Cod Canal Fishing Report – August 13, 2015

The live eel bite remains very good at night, with a 50-pound fish taken last night from the east end, Cape side jetty. The west end also has had some good eeling action, especially around Aptucxet to pole 260. Most topwater action has occurred around the mid-west tide, with white and yellow the hot colors for pencil poppers and other topwater lures.

Bluefish are also around in good numbers, wreaking havoc with eels and soft plastics, especially around the east end where there is still some squid around.
