Cape Cod Bay Fishing Report – May 5, 2016

The bay water is very cold and the surf has been pounding for much of the week. Mackerel have been reported moving in towards the east entrance of the Canal, but their arrival has been slowed by the presence of so many seals in and just outside the land cut.

A few small bass have made their way to Barnstable Harbor, but nothing of any size has been reported. At the moment, it is a waiting game to see when the sand eels become active and the mackerel move in to feed on them.
