Wednesday was the first day this week that the sea bass fleet was able to get out and around upper Buzzards Bay and they are still catching quality fish in the 16-inch class; a number of boats were concentrated around the entrance to Pocasset and off Scraggy Neck, with a number fishing between Stony Point Dike and Cleveland Ledge.
Mike Thomas said that any topwater bite around the west entrance to the Canal has been happening around the last couple of hours of the drop and the change to incoming; there should be plenty of fish around the necks and Mashnee Island, but the window of opportunity for action has been small and limited.
The grass patches and dropoffs from Onset to the Maritime Academy are holding mostly schoolies, but folks trolling umbrella rigs with white or blue/white shad style plastics have been picking up some fish in the 40+-inch class around the dolphins.
