Buzzards Bay Fishing Report – August 3, 2017

There are some small, isolated schools of pogies around Onset and from Monument Beach to Quissett, with the few boats who have been able to procure live baits catching somewhere in the vicinity of five to six good bass during incoming water. This has definitely been an in-the-dark fishery with daylight bringing too much boat activity.

Skirting the edges of the Canal has been key, whether you are fishing on the academy side or from Gray Gables to the pilings.

Otherwise, Mike Thomas said that reports from the bay have been tough to come by; the typical schools of small bass and blues have been more scattered than usual, but the reality is that the best activity has been at first light and again at dusk.
