Bishop & Clerks #426

Boat Spots Bishop and Clerks
Bishop and Clerks

Bishop and Clerks is just south of Hyannis Harbor. This area gets plenty of boat traffic due to its proximity to the harbor and to so many ports and boat ramps. Early early season Bishop and Clerks is home to great squid fishing and later a very solid bottom fishing bite. This area also holds stripers and blues. Cast swimming plugs, soft plastics, metals, jigs and flies into the small rip for stripers and bluefish. Early morning and low light conditions best for bass and blues due to heavy boat traffic.

Anchor on the east side of the shoal to be out of the narrow channel. Fish in 20 – 30 feet of water near buoy “1” for fluke (use squid strips), sea bass or tautog (use crabs or sea worms).

  • Lat & Long:  41°34.5’ x 70°15’
  • Best Tide:  Either; action slows at slack.
  • Hazards:  Heavy boat traffic including ferries to and from Nantucket. A few boulders in shallow water.
